Personal interviews are not only useful in qualitative contexts. There are also advantages to using personal in connection with quantitative surveys. Be it face-to-face interviews conducted on the street, in the homes of the respondents, or in a test facility.

One distinct advantage of the personal interview is that it can be used to capture a target group that is difficult to pin down using other methods. For example, using personal interviews in the Copenhagen Metro is an excellent method when reaching and obtaining knowledge about Metro passengers. 

ADVANTAGES OF PERSONAL INTERVIEWS

Personal interviews make it possible to present tangible, physical materials to the respondents in order to record their immediate reactions and assessments. This can be visual or audio material, or material that needs to be touched, smelled or tasted.


 

NO MORE THAN 15 QUESTIONS

In order to ensure that the target group is representative and comprises respondents who have little as well as much time to participate, MEGAFON recommends that these surveys include no more than 15 questions.
